Some homes are designed to impress with their size; others win your heart with the feeling they create the moment you step inside.
52983 Cedar Crest Dr, Idyllwild, CA 92549 | Offered at $385,000
1 Bedroom | 1 Bathroom | 720 Sq Ft | Built in 1947 | 0.21 Acres | Sleeping Loft
Tucked among the towering pines of Idyllwild’s Pine Cove community, this vintage 1947 cabin is a rustic retreat where natural materials, mountain views, and old-fashioned charm take center stage.
Warm wood paneling, plank floors, and exposed ceiling beams give the interior an unmistakable cabin character, while skylights draw natural light into the vaulted living space. At its heart stands an original wood-burning stone fireplace, rising toward the ceiling like a rugged piece of the surrounding landscape brought indoors.
The kitchen preserves its period feel with traditional cabinetry, open shelving, wood countertops, and a stainless-steel gas range, creating a space that feels practical without losing its rustic soul.
The bedroom features built-in storage and windows overlooking the trees, while a ladder leads to a tucked-away sleeping loft beneath the peaked roof—a charming use of space that adds to the cabin’s storybook appeal.
The remodeled bathroom introduces a more contemporary touch, pairing a natural flagstone floor and vintage-style wall-mounted sink with a walk-in shower. Outside, a sweeping curved deck extends over the hillside, offering a place to unwind in the fresh mountain air, enjoy the hot tub, and take in glimpses of the surrounding peaks.
Set on approximately 0.21 acres near trailheads, this compact hideaway offers a different kind of luxury: privacy, simplicity, and a close connection to nature.
Offered at $385,000, this is a cabin for someone who understands that a home’s magic is not measured in square footage, but in its atmosphere, craftsmanship, and ability to make the outside world feel wonderfully far away.
